2020

I've just read back over this same blog post that I did for 2019 and wow WHAT a contrast... 2019 was filled with adventure. We planned a wedding, went camping, got married, went on a honeymoon to Italy, we bought a HOUSE. So many exciting things. In fact I think we said that in 2020 we'd like to have a bit of a relax... well that was certainly delivered! Little did we know we'd be staying home for most of the year due to a pandemic, with lots of our friends and family directly affected. I can't quite believe we're already coming to the end of this strange year, but with lots of talks of vaccines and with the majority of the uk in tier 3 and 4 of restrictions, I'm hoping 2021 looks a little different. Let's take a look at what DID happen in 2020.

The year started with a home DIY project- making a seat cushion for our conservatory. Little did I know I'd be spending much of the Spring and Summer sat up here reading.

Before Covid restrictions came into full swing, we had a cosy (soggy) stay in the New Forest with Mum, Dad and Laura. It was such a beautiful cottage!

Soon after this trip we went into a national lockdown. Time for scrap booking, crafting, gardening and zoom calling after zoom calling. (I think the Zoom calls will be something we're happy to leave behind in 2020...)

I also stepped up my insta game and worked with Yorkshire artist on instagram to share her beautiful artwork!

I started a blog and insta series called skin diaries... more on that soon! Head back to my blog post to find out more.

In lockdown we also managed to do a budget bathroom renovation while at home, and we're so pleased with the result! Although painting tiles wasn't the easiest of tasks...

We took an afternoon tea round to mums house for her birthday as she turned 60, again limited to 6 people at a time in their back garden! We grew sweet peas, strawberries, tomatoes and chillies.

We enjoyed more outdoor adventures, exploring places we've never been too.

We met up with friends to celebrate them having a BABY! Whaaaat. It was such a special time together. I love these pals.

We enjoyed beach trips with Tim, Natalie and Jude, although it was VERY windy. A little different from our usual summer beach evening bbqs.

We then went on such a lovely camping trip with these fantastic people. They're so great. (It goes without saying that everything was done as Covid safe!) This was the first time we properly saw baby Harris moving too, it was so lovely.

After the camping trip James and I celebrated our first wedding anniversary, can you believe it, in Shrewsbury. We stayed in a beaut little cottage with views over the fields.

Back to reality hit and Covid cases increased, which meant as we moved into the autumn winter months more restrictions came into play. Despite this, we managed to have such a lovely time celebrating the soon arrival of baby Harris. We had 6 people inside at a time and played some hilarious games! Such good fun.

As always we went pumpkin picking with friends, this time to somewhere new! Jude of course did think all the pumpkins were apples... hilarious.

Another SUPER exciting thing that happened this year is that one of my besties got engaged, and she's asked if I'll be one of her bridesmaids! I was SO excited to hear this news, and can't wait to help Liv over these next couple of years before the big day!

And then lastly we come to December, where I've written a whole blog post on what we've got up to. Just like the rest of the year it's been a strange one, but we still happened to have a special time, despite family being spread far and wide.

We've enjoyed some really relaxing days over this last week. As normal, the days between Christmas and new year always seem like a blur, even more so this year as we aren't able to see people! I've spent time prepping my new bullet journal (again, more on this soon...), cosying up with blankets and muddy walks in the cold.

So that's about it! I've enjoyed adventuring, just in a different way to normal in 2020. I'm so interested to see what next year's blog post of 2021 will have in store!

Goodbye 2020, hello 2021!
