Happy Saturday!

I hope you've had a good week. I can't believe how many weeks we've now been in lockdown. What strange times!

I wanted to pop on and share some pictures from our recent budget bathroom renovation, giving some more details of what we've purchased. We haven't really touched the bathroom since moving in back in October, and although it was absolutely fine we wanted to add a bit more of our stamp onto it. The main addition being some reclaimed wood shelves, which we actually bought from a place called UpcycleUK just round the corner from us. I'd recommend having a look on their website because they sell beautiful reclaimed wood furniture as well as unfinished scaffold shelves!

We started by just simply sanding the wood, using an electric sander (which is apparently now my favourite power tool...) We then measured the space where we wanted the shelves and sawed them to size. After this, we used teak oil to bring out the grain of the wood, and we're really pleased with how they've come out!

Meanwhile, we bought some V33 Wall and Tile paint from B&Q, and painted the tiles in White Satin. This took a few coats to get the solid colour consistency we wanted, and as our tile grouting is quite deep we had to make sure the paint didn't drip! We were also really unsure on the colour we wanted, choosing paint can be so hard! We went for Treetops from Wilko, which we are really happy with! See the before and after picture below!
