Our Honeymoon

Hello!

It's been a very long time since I've sat down to write a blog post, it seems that we have had a very busy year!

Since I last posted James and I have both started new jobs, got married and bought a house... so we've just had a few bits and bobs going on...

After our wedding in August (which I am hoping to make a post about eventually) James and I went on a beautiful holiday to Lake Como in Italy, and stayed in a lovely little town called Menaggio.  We'd been to Italy before and we were really keen to head back to see more. We hadn't looked too much directly into the area we were staying in before we left, but it had everything that we needed and more. After visiting some equally beautiful places during our stay we both agreed that Menaggio  suited us more, with a beautiful square, some handy local shops and some very good places to eat (particularly the gelato shop where they changed their flavours daily!)

We stayed in an an Airbnb which have stunning views over the lake, although that did mean the climb up was a little tiring! We had a good balance of time relaxing and exploring the local area. James far more prefers to sit and read whereas I get fidgety staying put for too long! The weather was mostly good but we did watch some spectacular thunderstorms over the lake.

We drove to Milan to explore the city on one of the rainier days in Menaggio.

We bought a ticket which meant we could jump on and off different ferries as a much cheaper way of exploring nearby towns!

We visited Mr Monzino's beautiful villa where films like Star Wars and James Bond have been filmed. We even managed to use our National Trust card to get us some entry discount!

The air bnb had some very rickety bikes, which weren't at all comfy to ride and we had a few looks as the breaks squeaked and parts fell off the bikes as we cycled our way through Menaggio!

On one of our last nights we had another lovely meal out and had some drinks at the lake front as the sun went down.

We had such a wonderful time, I wish we could do it all over again!
