Here's to 2018...

I've been meaning to write this post for a while, but already life is getting busy- how did it get to the end of February already??

I'm not really the type of person to set strict resolutions (like getting to the gym three times a week... hats of to those that do!) but I do have some ideas of things I want to get better at, and new things to try and stick to this new year.

Last year myself and a group of friends got together to each make a '2017 Bucket List' where we wrote down adventures and memories we wanted to make before the years up, so before we get started on THIS years bucket list and goals I wanted to share what I had LAST year...

1. Visit Hannah in Madrid
Jack and I went to visit Hannah in the Spring of 2019 and had such a good time. (Go read the blog post to see what we got up to!)

2. Asian Adventure
Bryony and I set off straight after finishing at uni to Thailand for an amazzing holiday. (As above, go read what we got up to on previous posts!)

3. Play the Piano and Guitar Often
As a lot of new years resolutions go, this one started off well but trailed off fairly quickly. See this years' goals further down!

4. Vlog Each Month
This happened and I loved it! I already love looking over what we got up to over the year, including general month videos and trips away. I think my filming and editing skills have improved too!

5. Holiday with James
Our first holiday together was SO lovely. We enjoyed visiting York and Pocklington and of course Robin Hoods Bay.

6. Graduate with a first
I loved my time at Winchester so much and find it so hard to believe that it's already finished. Sad to tick this one of the list!

So... onto 2018! Looking back at that list, 2017 was a really big year, full of finishing up at uni, going on adventures and making memories. 2018 is already looking a little quieter, concentrating more on saving for a house and a wedding, and making memories closer to home. So this list might look a little different, with some smaller goals and changes to get back into routine!

1. Be more on time.
People will often suggest this is because I might be leaving things until the last minute, however, I tend to try and fit lots of things into the time that I have before I need to leave the house, managing time effectively for later in the week but perhaps not for the present!

2. Get to bed earlier.
I notice such a difference in my skin, in my mood and head space when I have enough sleep and I want more of that please.

3. Read more Bible.
I generally need to get more into a routine of bible reading and plan following. I'm looking forward to getting stuck into a new study at small group too.

4. Finish teacher training and find a school!
I finish in July and look forward to teaching in September, so will soon be on the look out for jobs- eek!

5. Make music.
As seen in my 2017 goals this didn't happen so much, so I'm going to try and dedicate more time to practising this year.

6. Free (or nearly free...) adventures!
As mentioned, last year was a year of incredible adventures, exploring the world and places a little closer to home too. This year I want to make more memories, vlogging them as I go, but seeing how cheap we can make them. Perhaps sharing some ideas is another idea for a blog post!

Of course amongst all of those goals we've got to plan a wedding somewhere in between! Let's see how we get on, I'm looking forward to seeing what 2018 brings...thankyou for reading!
